I have had the pleasure of boarding my horses at Hazelnut Farms for the past 7 years. This small, boutique barn offers a level of individualized care tailored specifically to each horse’s needs. The paddocks are thoughtfully managed, with ample room for the number of horses and regular rest periods for the land. The quality of feed and hay is exceptional. Additionally, the barn offers both an indoor and outdoor ring with fantastic footing, providing year-round riding opportunities. Hazelnut Farms truly provides a welcoming, high-quality environment for both horses and their owners.

I have been boarding at Hazelnut Farms for about 10 years. The care that is given to the horses is beyond expectations. My horse, in particular, is 29 years old , and is susceptible to colic. She is in great shape but also has diabetes and Cushing and I never worry about her care. Lynn is always on top of it I, as a rider, am 64 years old and a long-time work in progress. I have physical issues and am anxious as a rider. Lynn has been so patient with me and has worked me through some tough times in my riding. The farm is very well cared for and maintained. Being there for as long as I have, I have seen many wonderful changes. Lynn has many different types of clinics for every level to enjoy either run by herself or outside trainers. She and Pat also have wonderful get togethers so that new and old clients get to know each other. We are a family. Hazelnut Farm is my home away from home and I am there to stay.

I have the pleasure of leasing and training at Hazelnut Farms and I can’t say enough good things about this wonderful place. The care and attention given to each horse and rider is exceptional. Lynn is patient, knowledgeable and intuitive in all aspects of her work and has created a warm, welcoming and professional environment in which both horse and rider can thrive. Truly a very special place!

Working with Lynn Medeo has been an absolute game-changer for both me and my horse. Her lessons are not only the most technically sound I’ve ever experienced, but she also has a unique ability to adapt her training style to each individual rider. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced equestrian, Lynn meets you where you are—with patience, insight, and encouragement. Every session with Lynn is a positive experience. She uses thoughtful, consistent positive reinforcement that brings out the best in both horse and rider. I always leave a lesson feeling more confident, more connected, and excited to come back for more.
Lynn also provides exceptional care to the horses at Hazelnut Farms. My horse is thriving under her care, and it gives me such peace of mind knowing he's in such attentive, knowledgeable hands. I truly can’t recommend Lynn enough. She is an outstanding trainer, a gifted teacher, and a wonderful human being.

I have been riding at Hazelnut Farms for over 8 months and couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I arrived, the welcoming and friendly atmosphere immediately put me at ease. Lynn is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her horses. She has a foundation in both dressage and hunter/jumper so her lessons are super creative and fun. She knows all of her horses really well and teaches you how to read their subtle signs so that you can make sure they’re having fun too!
Lynn also brings in a variety of different experts to do dressage clinics, groundwork sessions, and animal communication. She’s always up for an adventure whether leading a hack on the Baxter Road trails or taking young riders to different schooling shows.
It’s clear that Lynn cares not only about horses but also about building a supportive environment for riders. There is a lovely sense of community among the riders and the horses themselves are happy, healthy, and well-cared for, which speaks volumes about the barn’s commitment to animal welfare.
Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just starting out, I would highly recommend Hazelnut Farms to anyone looking to learn, improve, or simply enjoy time with horses.

I decided a few years ago to learn how to ride dressage. I had been riding hunt seat and jumping but wanted to further my riding education to this very interesting and different approach that enables you to connect more fully with your horse. From the very first lesson, I knew that I had found my riding home. Lynn is an excellent teacher. She is positive, encouraging and an accomplished dressage rider. I always feel happy after a lesson. Her horses are safe, well trained and can accommodate many levels of students. Lynn also adds fun and educational events and experts to her program that teach us more about working with the horses on the ground and in the saddle. Hazelnut Farm makes everyone feel welcome. The other riders are all kind and encouraging whether they are riding their own horses or Lynn’s. We share our love of horses with each other and of course - the horses! I cannot recommend Hazelnut more for learning or furthering your riding practice.
